The Lincoln Academy

The Lincoln Academy provides opportunities for intellectual and cultural exploration and development for the citizens of Lincoln. The Academy is a place where individuals of diverse backgrounds meet to share interests and develop appreciation and knowledge in new areas. Members volunteer as “instructors,” planners and committee members according to their skills. The Academy goals are to enable its members to learn, to express themselves, and to enjoy cultural experiences in a friendly, stimulating and cooperative atmosphere among their contemporaries. Through its programs, the Academy can enhance, enrich, and extend the quality of life of its members. We all have interesting lives to share – childhood, schooling, travel, unusual or interesting careers or witnesses to important events. You are encouraged to submit your experiences and interests or to suggest other speakers. If you have a life experience you would like to share, contact Crawley Cooper at (781) 259-0476.

Bring a bag lunch to Bemis Hall on Mondays at 12:30. We provide beverages and dessert. The lectures last about an hour, including a question and answer period. Participants are welcome to stay after the program to socialize and continue their discussion. The nursery school at the First Parish has generously offered us the opportunity to park in their lot and it is helpful if their parents have a chance to pick up children before we arrive.

Wish you could have seen one of the programs that you missed? Those programs with an asterisk after them are available on DVD from the Library! You may also click on those titles that are underlined and you will be directed to the videos on Lincoln’s Pegcentral video site.
